S. New Street, West Chester, PA--7/18/05

I travel S. New Street every day on my way to work, and I never get tired of it. Coupled with PA 926, the other road that I travel on the way to work, the two make for a great drive through rolling hills, fields, wooded areas, historic homes and barns--idyllic. Here are some views of the ever-present corn (sometimes different fields each year; sometimes the same field) and the tree-covered roadway between PA 926 and the WCU South Campus.

Be very careful with the orange looking that you say may be a Chanterelle, the golden ones, yes, the red to orange are probably Jack-0-latern and will have you seeing the soles of your shoes in the toilet...when you're wearing them. I know from experience! The golden ones will smell slightly peachy when sliced and have a wonderful light peppery flavor. Unless a local epert tells you definitely the orange and red ones are ok, stay away from them or have the expert eat them first!
